Shoaf heading to adult prison

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Monongalia County Circuit Judge Russell Clawges has signed an order sending one of Skylar Neese’s killers to an adult prison facility.

Rachel Shoaf can be transferred to an adult correctional facility any time after Friday, according to the order signed this week. Shaof pleaded guilty in 2012 to second-degree murder and was sentenced to 30 years in prison. She will be eligible for parole in 10 years.

Shoaf, along with co-conspirator Shelia Eddy, picked up Neese from her Star City home in July 2012 and drove her to Pennsylvania, where they attacked and stabbed the teen to death. The pair left the body in a wooded area.

Eddy later pleaded guilty to first-degree murder was sentenced to life in prison with mercy, making her eligible for parole after 15 years.

Shoaf is currently housed in a juvenile facility. She will likely be transferred to Lakin Correctional Center in Mason County, where Eddy is currently held.
