Man shot and killed by Huntington police

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — A disturbance at a Huntington restaurant and bar leads to police shooting and killing a suspect.

The incident started about 12:30 Saturday morning when Cabell County 911 received a call of a man brandishing a weapon in the 200 block of 3rd Avenue. Police responded, but found no suspects. But an hour later, police received a second call and responded to the Ranchito Mexican Bar and Grill in the same area.

A Huntington Police officer and State Trooper entered the restaurant and found several people in a heated arguement. One of the individuals, Robert Henderson, 37, had a gun plainly visible. Police repeatedly ordered Henderson to not move, but he refused to comply. He was shot by the Huntington Police officer.

Henderson was pronounced dead at the scene.
