Herd inks second recruit from Serbia

HUNTINGTON, W.Va.—New Marshall Coach Dan D’Antoni is making good on his promise to not only recruit around the United States but find talent in Europe as well. Marshall announced the addition of Milan Mijovic Monday afternoon.

The 6-foot-9, 260 pound Mijovic is the second Serbian to be signed by The Herd since D’Antoni assumed the role as head coach. Aleska Nikolic, also from Serbia, was signed earlier this season.

A native of Belgrade, Serbia, Mijovic spent his most recent season with BC Panda Club where he averaged 16.8 points, 11.7 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game, while shooting 58 percent from the field and 76 percent from the free throw line.

He joins Brett Bowling (Pineville, W.Va.), Stevie Browning (Logan, W.Va.), C.J. Burks (Hedgesville, W.Va.), James Kelly (Ann Arbor, Mich.), Nikolic (Pancevo, Serbia) as newcomers to the Herd program.
