Murder-suicide in Wood County

MINERAL WELLS, W.Va. — A Wood County woman called 911 Tuesday morning and said a man was threatening to hurt her and kill himself, when police arrived on the scene both were dead.

Wood County sheriff’s deputies found Christine Johnston dead of multiple gunshot wounds at Oaks Trailer Park in Mineral Wells. They also found James Auvil dead of a single gunshot wound.

Deputies said they were familiar with Auvil.
