HUNDRED, W.Va. — After three days of preseason football practices around the state, Hundred High School officially called off its 2014 football season due to a lack of players.
The Hornets’ coaching staff required 18 players for the team to carry on — they only ended up with 14 players. The cancellation leaves seven instate programs — Montcalm, Paden City, Valley Wetzel, Clay-Battelle, Cameron, Tygarts Valley and Hannan — scrambling to find a replacement game, or potentially play a nine game regular season.
Hundred had out of state matchups this year scheduled with St. Johns (OH), Hancock (MD) and Toronto (OH).
