Child involved in accidental shooting released from Ruby Memorial

SHINNSTON, W. Va. — A toddler who accidentally shot himself in the foot last week is out of the hospital.

The three-year-old was released from Ruby Memorial Hospital on Friday and authorities have said he is recovering well.

On Thursday, Harrison County EMS responded to the boy’s home at around 2 a.m. on Bridge Street in Shinnston.

Not many details are available related to the incident. If the shooting is ruled to be accidental, charges might not be filed.

The investigation is being conducted by the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department.
