Man breaks into apartment, smears blood on victim

MORGANTOWN,W.Va.– A Morgantown man is facing charges for allegedly breaking into an apartment, crawling into bed with a woman and smearing blood on her face.

Thomas Colin Green, 25, has been charged with burglary and abduction.

The strange incident happened early Wednesday morning at an apartment on Walnut Street. Morgantown Police were called to a reported burglary at 3:27 a.m. The caller reported a man had forced his way into her apartment and crawled into her bed. She was able to flee and lock herself in another room in the residence.

Officers arrived to find the front door damaged and forced their way in. They found the victim with blood smeared on her face. As police tended to her, they encountered Green in a different room of the apartment. He was taken into custody without further incident.

During the investigation, police learned the suspect climbed into the victim’s bed and smeared his blood on her face from an open wound he had on his hand. Officers found blood on three other residences where it appeared that the suspected attempted to gain entry as well.

Green was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital where he was treated for his wounds.

Morgantown Police continue to investigate.
