Man in custody after brief Charleston standoff

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Charleston police took a man away from a Washington Street East residence in handcuffs late Thursday night after a brief standoff.

Reports indicate the man was threatening suicide. He was taken to the scene at shortly before 10:30 p.m.

Officers blocked off the street near CAMC General. There were no injuries.
