Moundsville man accused of trying to burn down house with family members in it

MOUNDSVILLE, W.Va. — A Marshall County man is charged with attempted murder and arson for allegedly setting a home in Moundsville on fire while his mother, grandmother and another man were inside of it.

No one was hurt in the fire that happened last Thursday on Moundsville’s 2nd Street.

Moundsville Police said Robert Wayne Wise, 26, of Moundsville, confessed to the crime soon after his arrest.

Those with the Moundsville Police Department and Moundsville Volunteer Fire Department responded to the blaze.
