Man charged in scissors case

KEYSER, W.Va. — A Mineral County man faces charges after a one-year-old is impaled with scissors.

According to Mineral County Sheriff Jeremy Taylor deputies issued a felony arrest warrant for Andrew Christopher Conner.

Conner, 35, was arrested and charged with Felony Child Abuse resulting in injury. He was taken to the Potomac Highlands Regional Jail on $5,000 bail.

The victim’s mother was visiting Conner and his girlfriend at an apartment in Short Gap. Conner was allegedly cutting pizza with scissors when an argument began between Conner and his girlfriend and he threw the scissors which police say lodged in child’s head. The baby was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital where he is recovering.
