Train, truck collision claims life in Putnam County

BUFFALO, W.Va. — A man was killed when his pick-up truck was hit by a Norfolk Southern train in Putnam County on Tuesday afternoon.

Police said the collision occurred at around 4 p.m. along state Route 62 near the Buffalo Bridge. It claimed the life of Charles Harrison, 73, of Buffalo.

Eyewitnesses said the train engineer was blowing the train horn as a warning.
