CROSS LANES, W.Va. — Kanawha County deputies have followed up a number of leads in the case of missing teenager Erica Brown. The 16-year-old was reported missing from her home in the Cross Lanes area Aug. 7.

“Detectives have been working around the clock,” said Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department Cpl. Brian Humphreys. “Following up leads, getting search warrants for files, and interviewing anyone connected to Miss Brown’s life.”

Authorities have been reluctant to reveal much about what they have learned since Brown was reported missing. Parents tell deputies the teenage girl was at the home Saturday night, but when they went to wake her Sunday morning she was gone.

“Any information about her whereabouts that night, or the previous several nights, things like that could reveal a pattern she may have engaged in,” Humphreys said. “Those things we would like to know.”

Deputies are asking anybody who may have information about Brown’s disappearance or her whereabouts to come forward and offer up their tips. You can call 304-357-0169.

  • Dumb liberal is repulsive

After hearing about the identification of this poor child, I hope "Dumb Liberal" pushes away from the keyboard and takes a minute to reflect & feel remorse for comments made toward such a despicable and unimaginable crime. Peace and prayers to the parents & a painful jail sentence to the monster that is responsible.

  • Dumb Liberals

Still nothing? She's run far, far away.

Ms hailey, the hovering parent, might offer an aerial search from her helicopter.

Maid Marion, well has no skills, but she has offered to act concerned.

    • hailey

You are a disgusting fool. Gurantee you are divorced, no one one want to spend a minute with you

  • Dumb Liberals

Yawn!!!! Any word yet? Didn't think so.

  • Dumb Liberals

Apparently she is not in danger, otherwise an Amber Alert would have been issued. Coupled with the fact the Kanaw-Ha SO is "reluctant to reveal much" tends to point to the fact she is nothing but a runaway that is throwing a temper tantrum.

Unless some more information is released to the contrary, this story is a waste of ink and time.

    • hailey

Well if you ever breed and your child is unaccounted for I hope the press does not "waste ink and time" printing a story. I for one as a parent find this story terrible and very sad, I could not imagine even for one day not knowing where my child was at.

      • Dumb Liberals

My kid(s) runaway, they're on their own. I'd even change the locks on the door.

WOP! WOP! WOP! Don't get hit by the blades while hovering, Ms helo.
