Kanawha County teenager still missing

CROSS LANES, W.Va. — Kanawha County deputies have followed up a number of leads in the case of missing teenager Erica Brown. The 16-year-old was reported missing from her home in the Cross Lanes area Aug. 7.

“Detectives have been working around the clock,” said Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department Cpl. Brian Humphreys. “Following up leads, getting search warrants for files, and interviewing anyone connected to Miss Brown’s life.”

Authorities have been reluctant to reveal much about what they have learned since Brown was reported missing. Parents tell deputies the teenage girl was at the home Saturday night, but when they went to wake her Sunday morning she was gone.

“Any information about her whereabouts that night, or the previous several nights, things like that could reveal a pattern she may have engaged in,” Humphreys said. “Those things we would like to know.”

Deputies are asking anybody who may have information about Brown’s disappearance or her whereabouts to come forward and offer up their tips. You can call 304-357-0169.
