Huntington slowed by high water

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Huntington was in the path of a flooding rain Friday evening.

The water rose quickly and flooded streets throughout the city including the city’s viaducts.

Huntington police officers said 3rd, 5th and 7th avenues were all impassable.

The city sent out a message on Twitter at about 7:30 p.m., “Public Works crews have yet to make it to all severely flooded areas w/ barricades. Please DO NOT drive through high water.”

High water was also reported along U.S. Route 60 in Barboursville Friday evening and in Kenova.
