WHEELING, W.Va. — A Columbus, Ohio man is facing charges for two separate bank robberies that happened on Saturday morning.
The first was reported at Wesbanco’s Wheeling Island location in Wheeling right after 11 a.m. Saturday. A second robbery was reported a short time later at Wesbanco’s Ohio Valley Plaza location in St. Clairsville, Oh.
William Joseph McBride, Jr. was arrested before 5 p.m. Saturday in Columbus and charged with both robberies.
In both incidents, the suspect was described as a white man wearing blue jeans, a grey t-shirt, red baseball cap and glasses. He allegedly had a revolver and demanded money from the bank tellers at the two locations.
McBride was awaiting extradition on Sunday.
