GLEN DALE, W.Va. — University beat John Marshall 21-12 in week one of the high school football season. The Hawks built a 21-0 lead before a John Marshall comeback effort fell short.

University led 7-0 at the half as quarterback Jeremy Eckels scored on a 48-yard touchdown scamper. Running back Jace Neville finished with 90 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries in the win.
