Escapee found in Ohio County

OHIO COUNTY, W.Va. — The search ended Monday evening in Ohio County for the prison inmate who walked away from a work release crew at Oglebay Resort’s Fort Henry Days.

The crew was brought in to help with cleanup efforts following the event.

After several hours of searching on Labor Day, law enforcement officers found Christopher Michael Walls near GC&P Road.

The search for him was concentrated in the areas of Aaron Woods, Palmer Golf Course and Peters Run in Ohio County.

Walls is serving time on burglary and drug charges out of Harrison County.
