Harrison County teacher arrested on felony drug charges

CLARKSBURG, W. Va. — A special education teacher at South Harrison High School has been arrested on felony drug charges.

Kimberly Jo Pratt, 32, of Fairmont was apprehended by the Harrison County Street Crimes and Drug Unit on Wednesday and is charged with possession of Hydrocodone pills with intent to distribute.

Her arrest comes after an undercover operation conducted by the SCAD Unit, in which Pratt, while working on school property, made arraignments to purchase the drugs. Pratt agreed to meet an undercover officer posing as a drug dealer at a convenience store off the Saltwell exit on I-79 at 8 p.m. and purchased 45 pills.

As soon as Pratt took possession of the pills she was arrested without incident and transported to the North Central Regional Jail.

On Thursday, Pratt was arraigned by Harrison County Magistrate Frank DeMarco, where she posted a $25,000 bond.
