CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin, members of the West Virginia National Guard and first responders paused Thursday morning to remember the events of Sept. 11, 2001 during a service at the state Capitol complex.
The governor laid a wreath at the state Fireman’s Memorial outside the state Culture Center. There was a moment of silence and bell ringing.
Tomblin previously ordered all flags at state facilities to fly at half staff Thursday.
