Truck driver dead after Lincoln County crash

BRANCHLAND, W.Va. — State police in Lincoln County said a truck driver died Friday morning when his vehicle overturned on Route 10.

Troopers said Laverne Gillette, 47, of Grayson, Ky., lost control of the truck that was hauling a tanker at about 6 a.m. He was thrown from the vehicle.

The tanker, which is owned by West Virginia Paving, leaked a small amount of petroleum asphalt.
