BROWN, W. Va. — State Police are investigating a head-on collision which resulted in six people being sent to the hospital.

The accident occurred Saturday at around 5:30 p.m. on Route 20 in the community of Brown near the intersection with Jake Run Road.

According to Trooper Joseph Bush, a white Toyota Tacoma was traveling south when it went left of center, colliding with a blue Ford F-250.

Christian Shaver, 19, of Compton, Arkansas and driver of the Tacoma, along with Austin Eddings, 20, of Harrison Arkansas and the front passenger were transported to Ruby Memorial and are still in the ICU.

Kyle Thompson, 23, of Harrison County and a passenger in the back seat, was transported to UHC but was transferred to Ruby Memorial. He is listed to be in stable condition.

The other passenger in the back seat, as well as the two traveling in the F-250 were transported to UHC and released the same day.

Bush said the accident may have been caused by Shaver texting while driving based on witness statements and evidence on the scene and he may be charged with failure to maintain control.

Charges are pending as the investigation continues.
