Michael Myers was arrested Wednesday night.

Deputies said Michael Wayne Myers, 57, called 911 and told dispatchers he had just shot his wife in the head and she was dead.

Mineral County deputies and West Virginia State Police Troopers arrived on the scene where Myers was found sitting on the front porch of his home. He was arrested without incident. Deputies located the victim in an upstairs bedroom and identified her as Valarie Kay Myers, 57.

Investigators recovered a .45 caliber handgun at the scene.

Michael Myers is charged with the first-degree murder and is being held in the Potomac Highlands Regional Jail without bail.
