Capehart staying at West Liberty

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. — West Liberty University President Robin C. Capehart released the following statement Thursday after the selection of Joseph Rallo of Texas as the 8th Commissioner of Higher Education by the Louisiana Board of Regents:

WLU President Robin Capehart

“I personally thank the Board of Regents of Louisiana for their hospitality throughout the interview process. Though I wasn’t selected for the position, it was indeed an honor to be considered and I wish the new Commissioner success in his role.”

“I am looking forward to returning to West Liberty. We must continue to move the institution forward. I am pleased to continue to serve,” Capehart said.

The Louisiana Board of Regents embarked upon a search for the 8th Commissioner for Higher Education to lead the state’s four systems of higher education some months ago. The Board appointed a Commissioner’s Search Committee, with the assistance of AGB Search. This Committee, in consultation with the Board of Regents, was charged with finding the best-qualified individual to transform Louisiana higher education.
