One dead, one charged with murder in Kanawha County

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A Kanawha County woman is charged with killing her roommate.

Charleston Police arrested Patricia Miller, 50, of Charleston, in the early morning hours Thursday soon after officials said the victim was stabbed on Nancy Street on Charleston’s East End.

The victim was identified as Victoria Summers, 29, who was stabbed in the chest with a steak knife.

She died at a Charleston hospital on Thursday morning.

Detectives said the two had been involved in some kind of dispute about a lease and drugs and alcohol were also involved.

The investigation continued into Thursday afternoon.
