Three-car accident on I-79 sends multiple people to hospital

WESTON, W. Va. — A three-car accident Monday morning in Lewis County resulted in multiple people being transported to the hospital.

Authorities with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department said an Allied Waste Services truck was driving with it’s hazard lights when a Honda Accord crashed into the back of the truck near the 99 mile marker on I-79 near Weston.

A van then entered onto I-79 and, unable to see the Honda, rear ended the vehicle.

Two were transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital while one was sent to Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital. The condition of the victims is unknown at this time.

The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
