HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — U.S. House Speaker John Boehner will make two stops in West Virginia Wednesday in hopes of boosting GOP candidates in what are believed to be tight races in the state’s second and third congressional districts.
Boehner, R-OH, and Rep. Greg Walden, R-OR, will join state Sen. Evan Jenkins at a coal handling facility on the Big Sandy River near Huntington at 1 p.m. Jenkins is battling longtime Congressman Nick Rahall in the third district race.
Boehner and Walden will then head to the eastern panhandle where they are scheduled to join Republican Alex Mooney at ‘get-out-the-vote’ rally at Paddy’s Irish Pub in Charles Town at 4:30 p.m. Many are calling the Mooney-Nick Casey race a toss-up in WV-2.
Early voting continues in West Virginia through Saturday. The General Election will take place Nov. 4.
