MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — WVU football coach Dana Holgorsen made students who have been camping out in Tent City on the Mountainlair Plaza very happy Friday afternoon when he showed up with free pizza.
The students began setting up tents Sunday in anticipation of ESPN’s ‘College GameDay’ show that will air Saturday morning. The students crowded around Holgorsen for selfies. Tent City has grown to more than 130 tents in the last few days.
ESPN began doing ‘live’ drop-ins from its set Friday afternoon.
WVU President Gordon Gee also got into the act Friday by poking fun at himself concerning a comment he made about TCU a few years ago. Gee called them “Little Sisters of the Poor” when he was president at Ohio State. He apologized on a picture posted on his Twitter account Friday afternoon.
