LEWIS COUNTY, W. Va. — The seizure of a safe in a previous investigation yielded one of the larger drug busts involving crystal methamphetamine for the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department
As result of a new search warrant, deputies located 260 grams of crystal methamphetamine, along with nearly $4,000 cash. The contents were located within a safe that had been taken during the prior investigation that occurred Monday.
“I have never observed so much crystal meth in one location in my law enforcement career,” Sheriff Adam Gissy said. “It goes without saying, that the arrest made will likely slow down the methamphetamine disbursement within our county.”
Daniel Lee Canter, of Upshur County, is facing charges of driving while revoked for DUI, being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, in addition to the most recent charge of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.
The street value of the crystal methamphetamine is nearly $33,000.
