Fayette accident claims life

FAYETTEVILLE, W,Va. — A Nicholas County man was killed in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Route 19 in Fayette County Friday morning.

Fayette County Sheriff Steve Kessler said Glen Forest McClung, 76, of Mount Lookout was driving his SUV north on Route 19 when a van being driven by Paul Syner, 83, of Edmond, pulled into his path near the entrance of the Canyon Rim Visitor’s Center.

Sheriff Kessler said McClung died a short time after the accident at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill. Syner was taken there first and then transported to CAMC.

No charges were initially filed. The accident remains under investigation.
