Man charged with two robberies now in custody

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A Kanawha County man charged with two robberies in Charleston Friday afternoon turned himself to police late Friday night.

Detectives charged Charles Taylor, 52, with armed robbery. It’s alleged he held up the BB&T branch on Tennessee Ave. at just before 2:30 Friday afternoon and then approximately four hours later, at 6:30 p.m, held up the Kroger store on Delaware Ave.

Police said Taylor made threats at both locations. He got away with $200 from Kroger.

Taylor is lodged in the South Central Regional Jail.
