UC dismisses football players after arrests

SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. — South Charleston police charged a second University of Charleston football player Monday for allegedly using counterfeit money at a number of Kanawha Valley businesses.

UC said late Monday that Marquis White, 21, of Charleston and Davon Henry, 20 of Wesley Chapel, Fla., had been dismissed from the team.

The two allegedly took regular paper and made $20 bills. Police said they used them at Walmart and then returned the items they purchased for cash. They also allegedly used the bills at other businesses in the Southridge area.

Police arrested Henry following a traffic stop last week. They had been alerted by a convenience store clerk that he had try to use a fake $20 to purchase gas.

White was arrested Monday.
