Police charged Russell Ripley, 57, of Milton, with attempted first-degree murder and seven counts of wanton endangerment after police said he shot up the truck that he thought had hit his wife. The dispute came during a child custody hand-off at the Sheetz just off the Milton exit of I-64.

Police said there were two adults in the front of the truck that was shot and three kids in the back, including one in a car seat. Investigators said one of the shots hit the car seat but no one was injured.
