Vehicle driven into pond; Parkersburg man dead

HARRISVILLE, W.Va. — The body of a Parkersburg man was found in a car that had been driven into a pond in Ritchie County on Monday.

State police said no foul play is suspected in the death of Malcom Moorehead, 62, though they were investigating to determine what caused him to crash the vehicle. They said the car was found in a pond adjacent to a private driveway just off U.S. Route 50 near Nutter Fork Road.

An autopsy is being performed by the state Medical Examiner’s Office to determine a cause of death.
