DNR investigating death of Tyler County deer hunter

SISTERSVILLE, W.Va. — A New Jersey man was found dead in a sheltered tree stand in Tyler County on the first day of the buck gun season Monday.

The state Division of Natural Resources said Fran Joseph Esposito, 62, of Pleasantville, N.J., was discovered by his hunting party at 8:15 Monday morning in a tree on Clark Ridge near Sistersville.

DNR police are calling it an unattended death. There were no apparent signs of injuries.

The DNR also reported Tuesday a hunter in Wayne County suffered a broken arm when he fell out of a tree stand Monday near Dunlow.

The bucks gun season runs through Saturday, Dec. 6.
