Harrison County woman sentenced after committing tax fraud

CLARKSBURG, W. Va. — A Harrison County woman was sentenced in federal court Wednesday after committing tax fraud.

Pamela S. Bailey, 55, of West Milford, received one year and one day in prison for providing false information on her 2011 income tax return.

An IRS investigation revealed Bailey underestimated her taxable income resulting in unpaid taxes in excess of $42,000.
Bailey pled guilty in July to one count of filing a false personal income tax return.

She will receive credit for time served since August.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert McWilliams, Jr. prosecuted the case on behalf of the government, while U.S. District Judge Irene M. Keeley presided.
