Wayne County fire destroys home

WAYNE COUNTY, W. Va. — A Wednesday morning fire left a home destroyed, but thanks to rescue efforts all those inside were able to escape.

The blaze was sparked sometime before 10 a.m. when the Kenova and England Hill Fire Departments received the call on Coplen Branch Road.

Seven people were inside when the fire began. According to reports, three elderly adults had to be assisted by two teenage boys who came to their rescue.

No one was injured in the fire and the Red Cross was called to the location.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
