Suspect in Kanawha County larceny comes forward

CHARLESTON, W. Va. — A woman claiming to be the one caught on surveillance stealing packages and a wreath from the porch of a Cross Lanes residence over the weekend has turned herself in.

According to the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department, the woman came to them Wednesday afternoon, returning packages she said were stolen and provided a statement regarding the incident.

Footage released by the department showed a white female with medium length blonde hair walk up to the home along Twin Lakes Drive, walk off with the items and drive away in a dark colored BMW.

Officials say the investigation will continue as the statement must be corroborated and the evidence examined.

A decision regarding criminal charges against the woman will then be requested of the Kanawha County Prosecuting Attorney.
