PARKERSBURG, W.Va. — Parkersburg police say a Friday night traffic stop was the break they were looking for in a recent string of armed robberies.
Parkersburg Police Chief Joe Martin said an officer saw a motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed on 13th Street. The officer attempted to stop the operator but he continued. The driver eventually pulled over. The officer found two men on the motorcycle. The passenger was identified as Brandon Enoch, 24, of Parkersburg.
The officer found two ski masks and blue gloves, believed to have been used in recent robberies, on Enoch along with a CO2 powered pellet pistol. He was later charged with three counts of armed robbery. It’s alleged he held up the People’s News on Blizzard Drive twice and Stoney Café on Emerson Avenue in recent weeks.
The driver of the motorcycle, Sean Smith, 25, of Parkersburg, was charged with fleeing police and a number of other traffic violations.
Both men are in the North Central Regional Jail.
