Putnam County woman killed in Saturday crash

RED HOUSE, W.Va. — Icy roads are blamed for a deadly traffic accident Saturday morning in Putnam County.

Sheriff’s deputies said Jennifer Withrow, 38, of Red House, lost control of her car on Midway Hollow Road at about 9 a.m. She was in a curve when the car left the road and slammed into a tree. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

There was black ice reported throughout the Kanawha Valley Saturday morning, which resulted in a few dozen traffic accidents.
