Florida native indicted on drug trafficking charges

ELKINS, W. Va. — A Florida man has been charged with bringing in and selling marijuana in West Virginia.

Arthur Woodrow Pritt, Jr., 37, of Archer, Florida, was indicted by a federal grand jury Tuesday.

Pritt is alleged to have repeatedly sold marijuana in Northern West Virginia from December 2008 until October 24 when he was discovered in possession of marijuana and arrested.

He is charged with one count of conspiracy to distribute marijuana along with one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana and faces up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000 on each count.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen Warner is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government while an investigation is being conducted by the Mountain Region Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force, the U.S. Forest Service, the State Police, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, the DEA, the IRS, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department, and the U.S. Postal Service.
