HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — The president and chief executive officer of one of the state’s largest hospitals has announced his retirement. Cabell Huntington Hospital’s Brent Marsteller will leave the position effective Dec. 31.

Marsteller is a Huntington native. Before returning to Huntington he served in hospitals in Ohio, Florida and West Virginia. He’s been in the top position at Cabell Huntington for 14 years.

“Over the last 14 years, Brent Marsteller has led Cabell Huntington Hospital during the most pivotal and growing period of its history,” said Steven L. Burton, chairman of the Cabell Huntington Hospital Board of Directors in a prepared statement. “Brent’s outstanding leadership and vision paved the way for the tremendous growth of the Cabell Huntington Hospital/Marshall University Health Sciences Campus that we see today.”

Marsteller will be a consultant to Cabell Huntington beginning in the new year.
