Two arrested in Harrison County on federal drug crimes

CLARKSBURG, W. Va. — Authorities in Harrison County recovered large quantities of heroin and U.S. currency, along with marijuana, numerous prescription pills, and firearms, while executing two federal search warrants Thursday.

Jason Grant, 30, of Clarksburg, was arrested when the West Virginia State Police recovered nearly 400 stamp bags of heroin and U.S. currency from his residence.

The warrant for his arrest was obtained by the Greater Harrison County Drug Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative.

Al Teric Garrett, 33, of Clarksburg, was arrested by officers from the Clarksburg Police Department, including one assigned to the Mountaineer Highway Interdiction Team. At his residence, 400 stamp bags of heroin, ammunition, and a cellular telephone were recovered.

Grant and Garrett are in federal custody after being named in separate criminal complaints charging them each with possession with intent to distribute heroin.
