Fire leaves two hurt in Charleston

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Two people were taken to the hospital with injuries after a fire this morning on Violet Street in Charleston.

The Charleston Fire Department was called to the home about 4:30 a.m. The house was fully engulfed when they arrived.

The two victims were pulled from the fire and suffered burns, but the extent of their injuries are not known.

A cause for the fire is under investigation.

Once the victims were out, firefighters battled the blaze from outside. They say the second floor collapsed at some point.
