WVU freshman receiver grazed by gunshot

IMMOKALEE, Fla.
— A West Virginia football player suffered minor injuries during a shooting Christmas Eve. WINK TV reports redshirt freshman receiver Jacky Marcellus was one of three people sitting inside a car when shots were fired into the vehicle.

One of the bullets grazed Marcellus, but another shot struck his brother Jackinson in the face. He was reportedly in serious condition. J.C. Jackson, a University of Florida football player, was also in the vehicle and received minor injuries.

According to WINK News, “Deputies say there were at least three people sitting inside a car outside of the Crestview Apartments when bullets broke through the windows.”

Authorities said one or two men walked up to the car and fired.

WINK reports that witnesses say the three men were visiting friends while the two football players were home for Christmas break.
