Parkersburg hospital announces restrictions for visitors because of flu

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. — A West Virginia hospital has taken an additional step in an effort to keep the flu from spreading. Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg has implemented restrictions on hospital visitors.

The hospital announced Wednesday that only those 12-years-old and older would be allowed to visit hospital patients, visitors would be limited to two per patient and visitors would not be allowed in the hospital if they feel like they have the flu.

Camden Clark also plans to give each hospital visitor a mask when they arrive.

The state Bureau of Public Health reported earlier this week widespread flu activity in West Virginia. The 70 doctors surveyed weekly reported a five percent increase in patients with the flu.
