Contract details emerge for WVU’s 3 assistants and newcomer Bruce Tall

From left, newcomer Bruce Tall, along with running backs coach Jajuan Seider, receivers coach Lonnie Galloway and cornerbacks coach Brian Mitchell signed new contracts with West Virginia.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Incoming West Virginia defensive line coach Bruce Tall signed a two-year deal worth $250,000 annually and three other assistants received extensions.

Running backs coach JaJuan Seider received a $75,000 raise and cornerbacks coach Brian Mitchell a $50,000 bump, increasing their annual salaries to $275,000. Receivers coach Lonnie Galloway, who some believe remains a candidate for a promotion to offensive coordinator, was renewed for two years at his current $300,000.

MetroNews received the contract details Wednesday through a Freedom of Information Act request. A request for Joe DeForest’s possible new deal included only the current contract that expires Jan. 30. He was being paid $500,000 under that agreement, an amount tied to his original post of defensive coordinator. That salary is expected to drop if DeForest is retained.

The incentives for Tall, Seider, Galloway and Mitchell are identical:

12 wins: $15,000
11 wins: $10,000
10 wins:  $7,500
9 wins: $5,000
Big 12 championship: $7,500
Non-playoff bowl appearance: $10,000
College Football Playoff appearance: $15,000
CFP semifinal victory: $5,000
National title appearance: $20,000
National title victory:  $5,000
