Fire damages Kanawha County church

ST. ALBANS, W.Va. — Quick work by fire fighters helped save a Kanawha County church late Friday night.

The fire started in the attic of the Grace Baptist Temple in St. Albans around 10 p.m. Members of the St. Albans Fire Department were quickly on the scene and contained the flames to the attic space.

A cause for the fire remained under investigation.

Firemen were hampered by the sub-freezing temperatures.  Several hose lines and fire hydrants froze as the mercury dipped into the single digits.
