One killed in Kanawha County hit-and-run

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A former Wisconsin woman was killed by a hit-and-run driver in Kanawha County early Sunday morning.

Deputies with the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department identified the woman as Robin Marie Campbell, 49, most recently of St. Albans, W.Va.

Investigators said a newspaper delivery person found the woman’s body on a gravel lot near St. Albans, close to Austin Drive, before 7 a.m. Sunday and alerted authorities. Using debris and other evidence, it was determined she’d been hit by a vehicle around 3 a.m. Sunday.

No description of the vehicle possibly involved in Campbell’s death was released Sunday.
