SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Someone purchased a $1 million winning ticket in West Virginia before Friday’s Mega Millions drawing.
State Lottery Director John Musgrave announced Monday the ticket, which matched five winning numbers, was sold at a retail location in South Charleston. The person had yet to come forward as of late Monday morning.
Friday’s Mega Millions numbers were 37-49-50-56-57 and the Mega Ball was 8. The Megaplier was x5.
The ticket represents the first $1 million or more ticket sold in West Virginia in 2015. There were 13 sold in 2014.
