BUCKHANNON, W. Va. — A man convicted on charges related to hiring two men to murder the man he believed to be his wife’s lover has received his sentence.
Rodolfo Villagomez Correa, 34, a Mexican national illegally in the country, was issued 40 years in prison for second degree murder and between one and five years for conspiracy by Senior Judge John Henning Tuesday.
Correa pleaded guilty in November to paying Jessie Lee Heater, of Buckhannon, $5,000, to shoot and kill Joshua Olberg. Hearter then gave $500 to his accomplice Robert Eugene Siron III, of Weston, to not say anything.
Investigation began six months after the incident when Olberg’s body was found off of Bull Run Road in a shallow grave.
Correa is already serving a three year, 10 month sentence after pleading guilty in 2012 to being in the country illegally and to owning 16 firearms.
Henning ruled the second degree murder charge and conspiracy charge will be served consecutively.
Deportation for Correa is scheduled to being at a later date.
